January 2010 – Lignes aériennes La has now gained coverage outside French and English publications. Polish, Greek, Thai, Russian, Korean and Hungarian bloggers have translated, in their respective languages, the article found in the Contemporist collecting, as a result, dozens of international comments.

June 2009 – The Quebec Order of Architects (OAQ) presents the Award of Excellence in Architecture – Interior Design Category – to the architects Justin Duchesneau and Laurent McComber for their Lignes aériennes project.

+  Buzzing blogs
February 2009 – On the Internet, everyone is talking about the Lignes aériennes project. Following La Presse’s coverage, the popular Contemporist gets the ball rolling. New York’s Treehugger magazine features the news. Then the project makes its way to California, via Notcot, and comes back to Montreal on Mocoloco. An impressive number of personal pages joins in: Kanye West, Limited Hype, W3SH, Best House Design, Dooby Brain and The Idea Beast.

+  Young practice
February 2008 – ARQ editors Pierre Boyer–Mercier and Jonathan Cha invited architects Marc Bertrand, Peter Soland, Marc–André Plasse and Laurent McComber to debate about their architectural practice. Discussions were published in the latest edition. Read the article.

+  Know–how
November 2007 – Laurent McComber summarizes his work at Duchesneau & McComber in the November edition of ARQ magazine: “Living to the rhythm of construction sites. Contract, subcontract, then learn directly from the craftsman.” The article is part of a series on young architecture firms in Quebec.

+  A successful addition
August 2007 – In La Presse's latest Mon Toit edition, journalist Simon Diotte relates Mrs. Hélène Déry–Fontaine’s adventure pertaining to the expansion of her de Lille street cottage in Ahuntsic, the De Lille au cube project. “The new kitchen – from now on the new main room of the house – can be admired from all angles because of the open ground floor.” Mrs. Déry–Fontaine could not be happier! +  Shoshin in Voir
May 2007 – In the last edition of the weekly publication Voir, reporter Alain Hochereau comments, over one full page, the Shoshin dojo project. He writes: “The design of the Shoshin aikido dojo, in the Mile End, is a great example of a simple, ecological and efficient architecture” [translation]. Read the article.

+  Shoshin & Créativité Mtl
March 2007 – “Une boîte sur le dojo” is the title of Sylvie Berkowicz’s article published in Créativité Montréal’s newsletter. According to her, the Shoshin dojo project, “is a small project, without great ambition nor great means, but it summarizes well, in its design and its ingenuity, the architects’ work” [translation].

+  Index–design
March 2007 – Index–Design portal dedicated its Zone–Éco section to Duchesneau & McComber. Reporter Anne Tremblay writes: “Combining contemporary language and alternative construction techniques, this firm distinguishes itself by the pure lines of its architecture” [translation].

+  Collection
October 2006 – Parisian creative collective Encore Heureux invites Duchesneau & McComber as well as other designers to live and work inside the French Pavilion at the Venice Biennale in search for creative architectural principles. The result of these workshops is published in twenty handcrafted catalogues. Read the document.

+  New graphic chart
Avril 2006 – Annie Lachapelle from atelier Chinotto has completed the firm’s graphic chart. The business cards are designed in such a manner that they can be assembled together into various structures. The logo represents two of these cards in isometric view.
